❄️ Winterizing the All-In Residential (Gen2 & Gen3)
⚠️ Read Before Continuing
The only guaranteed way to prevent freeze damage is to move your Cold Plunge into a temperature-controlled environment.
For customers who choose not to move the unit indoors, Deeptime provides the following winterization guidance. However, protection against all freezing conditions cannot be guaranteed.
🧰 Required Supplies
- ✔️ 1 Bottle of Concentrated Antifreeze
- ✔️ Washcloth or Towel
- ✔️ Garden Hose
- 🔹 Optional: Shop Vacuum for removing excess solution
🛠️ Winterization Instructions
1️⃣ Power Off & Prepare the System
Pause the plunge using the APP or touchscreen, wait until the system fully stops, then unplug the unit from the wall outlet.
Open the filter canister and remove the water filter. Use a towel or washcloth to clean any residue inside the canister.
2️⃣ Drain the Tub & Water Lines
Fully drain the tub from the main drain while cleaning the inside of the tub.
📍 Main Drain Location:
Remove the right-side vent panel — the drain is located at the bottom of the chiller.
After the tub is empty, open all additional drains to remove remaining water from the system:
- 🔹 Jet Side Drain: Long flexible hose with drain valve located behind the left-side vent
- 🔹 Winterizing Drain Line: Thin plastic line behind the chiller, located between the tub basin and chiller
⚠️ Some cold plunge models may not include these additional drains.
Once fully drained, close all drain valves and point both jets downward.
3️⃣ Add Antifreeze Solution
Pour a small amount of antifreeze concentrate into the O-ring groove at the top of the filter canister.
Then pour the remaining antifreeze concentrate into the bottom of the filter canister and reinstall the lid.
Next, fill the empty antifreeze bottle with water and pour it into the tub. Repeat this process two more times.
✅ Recommended mixture ratio:
- 3 Parts Water
- 1 Part Antifreeze
There should now be a visible mixture of water and antifreeze at the bottom of the tub.
4️⃣ Prime the System
Plug the tub back in and press the Power button to power it on.
⚠️ Important: Set the temperature to 90°F in the APP before continuing.
This prevents the chiller from attempting to start a cooling cycle during priming, which can damage the system and void warranty coverage.
The water pump may cycle on and off intermittently during this process — this is normal.
Allow the system to circulate the antifreeze solution for approximately 10 minutes so the solution reaches deep inside the pump and chiller components.
Briefly open each drain until the liquid turns pink, then close the drain and reinstall the cap.
5️⃣ Final Cleanup & Storage
Remove excess antifreeze solution from the bottom of the tub using a shop vacuum or towels/rags.
Install the spa cover securely, making sure:
- ✔️ All straps are tightened
- ✔️ The cover lip sits flat against the tub
Finally, unplug the leakage-protection plug from the wall outlet and store it in a dry location.
✅ Winterization Complete
Your All-In Residential Cold Plunge is now prepared for winter storage.
