Manual and Setup Guide for the Deeptime Ultra Chiller

Read First Before Setting Up Your Cold Plunge

Please read the Safety Precautions  and Warranty before setting up the Deeptime Ultra Chiller.

Water Chemistry Outline

  • We recommend showering prior to use for anyone using the Deeptime Cold Plunge. This will help maintain the chemical balance in the water.
  • Important note: keeping the Deeptime Cold Plunge outside will shorten the lifespan of the chemicals due to UV rays and more organic material entering the water.
  • The Deeptime Cold Plunge should not be filled with well water. Please make sure to properly strip the water with an ion exchange filter before filling the Plunge if you are on well water.

Important warranty information
Please note that damage caused by freezing conditions or improper water chemistry are not covered under our warranty. If the temperature in your area drops below freezing and water isn’t flowing, your plumbing system will crack and break.

Please monitor your Cold Plunge daily when the outside temperature is close to below freezing to ensure constant flow. If the ambient temperature is below 32°F / 0°C for 12 hours, you must drain the Plunge, filter and chiller and fully winterize the Plunge.

The Deeptime Cold Plunge should Run 24/7 - Stagnant water is not sanitary for the system. Solidified bio-matter can form inside the pipes and requires a deep clean with hot water to fix. This can also appear if no sanitation is done. Please follow the maintenance protocol included in the manual.

Using an Extension Cord Outdoors

If you plan to use an extension cord, it needs to be 12 gauge to give the plunge sufficient power up to 10 feet. Please refer to NEC requirements for your jurisdiction.

If you place your Deeptime Cold Plunge outdoors and use an extension cord, you will need to use a Weatherproof Connection Box – Indoor & Outdoor Electrical Power Cord Enclosure to protect the cord. If you need more information you can reach out to our Deeptime Experts by submitting a request ticket on our Help Center or emailing us at support@deeptime.cool.

After unpacking please allow the Deeptime Chiller to sit for  24 hours to allow the coolant to settle.

Set Up

Make sure you've completed the set up instructions for your tub before continuing.

Step 1: Chiller Placement

/!\ DANGER: Risk of electric shock. Install at least 1.5 meters (5 feet), from all electrical outlets and appliances.

  • Make sure the Plunge and the Chiller are on a solid, flat, waterproof surface.
  • Locate where the chiller connections will connect to the tub.
  • Place the chiller on the end with the circular fan facing out and about 4 inches from the tub. Note: Make sure there is at least 16 inches between the chiller fan and the wall or any object to allow for ventilation. The chiller needs space to exhaust hot air. Not doing so will void your warranty.

Step 2: Connecting the Tub

  • Find connection A
  • Check to make sure the white O-ring is seated in the connection collar.
  • Connect it to the drain port on the tub indicated in the image. Tighten the collar until it is hand-tight.
  • Find connection B
  • Check to make sure the white O-ring is seated in the connection collar.
  • Connect it to the jet port on the tub indicated in the image. Tighten the collar until it is hand-tight.

Please make sure the threading is on straight and not cross-threaded. Cross-threading can damage the connection collars. The connection collar should turn with ease.

Step 3: Connecting the Chiller

  • Grab connection A and check to make sure the white O-ring is seated in the connection collar.
  • Connect connection A to the drain port on the chiller indicated in the image.
  • Grab connection B and check to make sure the white O-ring is seated in the connection collar.
  • Connect connection B to the jet port on the chiller indicated in the image.

Please make sure the threading is on straight and not cross-threaded. Cross-threading can damage the connection collars. The connection collar should turn with ease.

Step 4: Fill the Deeptime Cold Plunge with water

  • Connect the carbon filter hose adapter to your garden hose.
  • Flush water through the filter and into a drain until the water runs clear.
  • Next, fill the Cold Plunge Tub: for the FiberCore Tub, the water level should reach 5 inches from the top; for the inflatable model (AirCore S), it should reach 8 inches from the top.
  1. While filling, check to ensure the filter housing cap is hand-tightened.
  2. Press the sides of the circular decorative cover to remove it, revealing the cap underneath.
  3. Unscrew the cap and verify that the filter cartridge is correctly seated inside the housing and that the O-ring is properly fitted into the housing's groove.
  4. Screw the cap back on and tighten it by hand; the screwing process should be smooth and unobstructed.

Step 5: Plug in the Deeptime Ultra Chiller

/!\ WARNING: Only plug your Deeptime Ultra Chiller into a dedicated 120V 15A 2 wire plus ground service outlet with a GFCI plug.  The term “dedicated” means that the electrical circuit for the Plunge is not being used for any other electrical items.  The electrical supply for this product must include a suitable 15A circuit breaker. The plug must be readily accessible and visible to the Plunge occupant but installed at least 1.5 meters (5 feet), from the Plunge water.

  • Once the tub is full you can plug in your Plunge to a dedicated 15 amp Circuit (120V).
  • Ensure the Deeptime Ultra Chiller has rested for at least 20 minutes for the coolant to settle before plugging it into the outlet.
  • Note: If you plan to use an extension cord, it needs to be 12 gauge to give the Plunge sufficient power up to 25ft. Please follow all NEC requirements.

Step 6: Turning the Plunge On

  • Locate the two buttons on the power cord that say “test” and “reset”.
  • Press the “reset” button to turn it on.
  • You should hear the jets turn on and see the screen on the chiller light up with the current temperature.

Step 7: Set the temperature

Press the up and down arrows on the chiller's display to set the desired temperature.
